Valentine's Day is all about spending quality time with your special someone, and these days the Ecks don't have much one-on-one time. Since we live with other people, we decided the best way to get some alone time would be to go on a road trip. We set out to explore the beautiful Colorado Rockies.

We headed North to Denver and made our way up to Golden, Colorado. Pretty cute little town, huh?

I want you to notice that we drove right past the Coors Brewery. My hubby is so committed to school that he didn't even take the opportunity to taste all those samples on a tour :)

Now this is where the mountain adventure begins. No matter how many times we see these mountains, we're always in awe of how beautiful they are! You never get tired of looking at them!!!!

And then the weather changed a bit more! We had no idea what we were headed toward. It went from sunny and clear skies to blizzard like conditions in a matter of 20 minutes.

This is when we realized we weren't going to make it all the way to Breckenridge. It's actually a good thing we turned around when we did, because they ended up closing the road shortly after we got out of there.

Now no mountain road trip is complete without a delicious pizza...at least in our family :) We stopped at Beau Jo's in Idaho Springs. It's a must when you're traveling with Brandon!!!
So that was our early Valentine's Day celebration. Hope you have a great one too!

Oh my, Rach! I can see that you had some great traveling weather. :) Beau Jo's in Idaho Springs is THE BEST! Hope you all had a great weekend & maybe I'll get to see you soon?
I'm glad you could spend some time together. Is that your love language?
It sure is! We jokingly say I need all the love languages, but quality time is at the top of the list ;)
